Fresh Sewing Day!!

Lily's Quilts

How is it another 1st of the month already?! I know I said I was depressed last month because I'd hardly done anything; this month I've done even less! I don't think I've mentioned before that my partner and I were meant to be getting married on the 4th of August (as in 3 days away) but we had to cancel as we couldn't afford it :( So I took on some exam marking to try and earn a little extra money, so that kept me busy from the beginning of July to the 18th. I earnt £500ish after tax...then my car needed insuring...and servicing...and that was all the money gone :(

Anywho, that's why I've not got much sewing done, and when I have been sewing, I have been focusing on completing my project and tutorial for the 'Projects on a budget' with Lily's Quilts, sponsored by Abakhan fabrics. Instructions for the first part of the project are due to appear on Lynne's blog shortly, and I would be delighted if you would pop over there and then pop back and let me know what you think. Here's a sneak peak of the first part of the project:

  2. Money SUCKS atm :0(
Feeling your pain hun and wishing you lots of good fortune in the very near future. Hope the 4th passes by unnoticed this year and it doesn't hurt too much. ((hugs))
I ♥ your Abakhan project. Can't wait to see the finish.

  3. If I could rewind time and plan my big wedding over again I would. I would have it very small and not over done. Matter of fact I would not mind being a little dressed up and have a fall bonfire/BBQ thing going on. It sure would beat having to be in debt and stressing out over silly things that in the end doesn't really matter. Making memories for a life time together is priceless than one what the cost of day will give you. Don't feel bad over it my husband and I still have not gone on our honeymoon and we have been married for four years now.

As for the quilt, I love it! Its so cute! Can not wait to see what the rest of it will look like.

  4. Such a shame to hear about your wedding. I hope things get better money wise and you can afford to put it back on again.
Money seems to be hitting a lot of us lately. I'm hoping to open an Etsy shop this month to make some money back.
Loving the sneak peak of the quilt. Hope to see you back in blogland more often this month =D

  5. Cute bunting quilt. We all have times in our life when we do not get much sewing done. You will find a way to get the wedding under way.

  6. I hope things get sorted for you money-wise, it's a horrible feeling. Hopefully you'll get the wedding you want soon, though I'd agree with Jennifer. I LOVED reading your post over at Lily's Quilts, I was very excited to see your name up there "in lights", as it were!
